Tuition & Financial Aid
Tuition
Drop-in rate: Our Adult Ballet classes are $22 per class, or $220 for an 11-class punch card, which can be purchased at the front desk. We do not offer punch cards for semester-long classes, but you may request a trial class for your child for $30. Please email our Executive Director for information.
Workshop rate: $140
Starting tuition for semester-long classes: $395. North Star Ballet calculates tuition based on contact hours, meaning the more hours a family spends taking classes at NSB, the lower their hourly rate will be for the semester. Figuring this rate out requires some math, and in an effort not to create unnecessary confusion, we don’t publish our contact hour rates.
That being said, classes that meet for one hour a week are $395 for the semester. Please don’t hesitate to call us to get more information about tuition.

Discounts
Sibling Discount: Families with two siblings enrolled at NSB will receive 5 percent off their tuition. Families who have three or more siblings enrolled will receive 10 percent off their tuition.
Referral Discount: If a new student registers for an NSB class because they were referred by an existing NSB family, we will offer 10 percent off tuition for the referring NSB family, and 10 percent off tuition for the referred family.
Financial Aid
North Star Ballet believes that any child who wants to dance should have the opportunity to do so, regardless of a family’s ability to pay full tuition.
To apply for financial aid, either submit proof of your child being on Free or Reduced Lunch through the school district, or submit your most recent tax return form. Send all financial aid inquiries and supporting documents to our Executive Director, Samantha Reynolds, at [email protected].
Students who qualify for financial aid receive 25 percent off their tuition total.
Work-Study
NSB’s Student Helper Program is open to B2 students and up. Student Helpers assist in all the Creative Movement, Pre-Ballet, A1 and A2 classes. Student Helpers aid the instructor in managing the class and demonstrate concepts as needed. Under the supervision of an experienced teacher, student helpers gain valuable knowledge in working with young children, the class syllabus, and teaching methods. Students are chosen on the basis of maturity, dependability and enthusiasm.
Helpers can earn $10.50 per hour tuition credit or may choose to volunteer. Tuition credit earned over a semester can be applied to the following semester’s tuition and/or Summer Intensive.
Scholarships
North Star Ballet has two merit based scholarships: the Miss Sue Perry Jordan Scholarship Fund and the Walt & Marita Babula Scholarship Fund. You can read more about these programs here.
