The Nutcracker Auditions
Boys and girls who will be eight or older by September 8th, 2024 are invited to audition for North Star Ballet’s production of The Nutcracker. No previous dance experience required. The audition is open to all children ages eight and up in the community. Children do not need to be enrolled in the North Star Ballet School to participate in The Nutcracker.
Performance dates are December 6, 7 & 8, 2024.
Families are expected to volunteer for a minimum of two (2) shifts during the rehearsal and performance process.

Auditions will be held on Sunday, September 8 at North Star Ballet in the Artisan's Courtyard, 1755 Westwood Way.
Audition times are divided by age group. Children should attend the audition for the age that they are on September 8th, 2024:
1:45-2:45pm - Ages 12 and older
2:45-3:45pm -10 & 11 year olds
3:30-4:30pm - 8 & 9 year olds
Dress Code & Fees
Legging or shorts and a fitted T-shirt OR
Boys: Fitted white T-shirt, black leggings or shorts, black socks, black ballet shoes
Girls: Black short sleeved leotard with no skirt or decoration, pink footed tights and pink ballet shoes, or skin tone matching tights and skin tone matching ballet shoes, hair in a bun.
North Star Ballet has a limited supply of dance attire available to borrow for the audition. Dance attire can be purchased at locally at Emboite, or online at discountdance.com
There is a $60 performance participation fee for each dancer. This fee is waived for dancers who show proof of enrollment in the free or reduced school lunch program or who are on NSB Tuition Assistance. This fee is only for those who perform in The Nutcracker. The audition is free.
